Here at Jacqueline’s Salon, we’re feeling the love this Valentine’s Day. For this tutorial, we’ve created a romantic, dramatic, and glamorous look. We are swooning over the combination of this gorgeous flowy fuchsia skirt paired with edgy hair and makeup. This Valentine’s Day is all about letting your bold confidence shine, no matter what your plans might be. This look is strong, bold, and beautiful – we’re in love!
Get the Look: Hairstyle
I created a fauxhawk updo …keeping it edgy and elegant with a fun twist. This look was all about the balance between drama and classic glamour. I wanted to have the hair fall in love with the fashion – it is the season of love after all!
I started by lightly misting the hair and rough drying it, using root lifter for extreme volume. Next, I loosely curled and backcombed for maximum texture. Then I pulled the sides back with a twisted soft braid. Transforming my model’s long hair into a fauxhawk required securing and pinning, to create more texture I pulled the hair out of position slightly. I finished the look with freeze spray to secure in place.
Get the Look: Makeup
For the makeup look, I wanted to do a variation on the classic smoky eye. Valentine’s Day is a day to do what you love, or what you would love to do but never have. Take some beauty risks!
For this unique look I used a gorgeous combination of golds and browns, then added a twist by smoking it out with an emerald shadow. I gave my model kissable lips by swiping on Just Jackie gloss in Rustic, adding a touch of shine.
Finally, select romantic fashions that will complement your glamorous look. We love this soft, flowy skirt paired with the edgy hairstyle. Oh la la!
May your heart be full this Valentine’s Day.
Until next time … live your dreams!
