Empowering Connections and Global Reach In a male-dominated society in rural Pakistan, Hena Gul, despite limitations on women’s education and employment, achieved a master’s degree and worked as a women’s rights activist through SAWERA. Despite barriers, she reached out to Empowering Women Radio in the US after being inspired by Dr. Shellie’s interview with Haseena Patel from South Africa, creating bonds with like-minded women globally and coining the term Global Sisterhood.
The Birth of a Transformative Movement
Dr. Shellie Hipsky’s $13K Kickstarter campaign birthed the trilogy “Common Threads,” delving into success secrets of 100 women globally. These books, hitting the Amazon International Best Sellers list, ignited a movement. The inaugural Global Sisterhood Summit in 2016 united women in Pittsburgh, leading to the creation of a non-profit entity supporting women worldwide through networking, resources, and funding.
